Kyrgyzstan urges to cooperate in fight against challenges for Turkic-speaking countries
President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov received the heads of delegations of the 24th Conference of Special Services of the Turkic Speaking States, which is being held in Cholpon-Ata city of Issyk-Kul region on July 26.
While welcoming the heads of national security services, the president noted that deep historical ties, the centuries-old experience of good neighbourliness and fruitful cooperation among countries and peoples create a solid foundation for strengthening cooperation within the conference, Anadolu informs referring to the Kyrgyz presidential press service.
President Japarov emphasised that the conference has become an important platform for cooperation and interaction in security and for many years has been a popular platform for discussing a wide range of professional problems, experience exchange, and development of the most effective models of cooperation in security.
“Today, the escalation of terrorist activity in the Middle East and Afghanistan, which has reached such a level that threatens the integrity of some countries and threatens to spread far beyond these regions, requires special attention from the outside. Obviously, it is possible to achieve significant results in the fight against these threats and challenges only through consistent and systematic work, joint and coordinated efforts,” the president said.
He noted that new time requires new approaches to solving problems, overcoming challenges and threats.
“In this regard, I express confidence that meaningful and constructive discussions of this platform will make a significant contribution to the benefit of ensuring security in the Turkic-speaking area. The close interaction among the special services of the countries participating in the conference will strengthen security in our countries, assist in the effective fight against international terrorism, extremism and other global problems,” President Japarov said.
The president expressed the readiness of the Kyrgyz side for fruitful work with the Turkic fraternal peoples on the basis of these values.
The special services of Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Türkiye signed the protocol on the establishment of the Conference of Special Services of Turkic Speaking States in Türkiye’s Istanbul city on May 20, 1998. The Uzbek State Security Service has become a member of the Conference of Special Services of Turkic Speaking States since 2018.
Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic Kamchybek Tashiev, Chief of the Azerbaijani State Security Service Ali Naghiyev, Deputy Head of the Azerbaijani Foreign Intelligence Service Samir Ismayilov, Chairman of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan Yermek Sagimbayev, Director of the Turkish National Intelligence Organisation Hakan Fidan, Chairman of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan Abdusalom Azizov attended the meeting.
