Ukrainian leader signals first step to peace
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine is ready for a full and unconditional ceasefire for a "sufficient period" as a first step toward achieving peace in the ongoing conflict.
"Ukraine is prepared for a full and unconditional ceasefire for a sufficient period, which should serve as the first step toward peace. We are grateful to all those who support us in this regard," Zelenskyy wrote, emphasising the importance of taking steps towards peace amidst the continuing violence, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
Zelenskyy also detailed a recent meeting with Luxembourg’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Xavier Bettel and Defence Minister Yuriko Backes, thanking them for their ongoing military support and assistance in the energy sector.
The sides discussed diplomatic efforts and strategies aimed at achieving a "reliable peace" in Ukraine.
In the broader context of international negotiations, US Special Envoy Keith Kellogg revealed that Ukraine had agreed to a set of 22 conditions put forward by the US. He further noted that European representatives were involved in the discussions, highlighting international cooperation in the search for a resolution to the conflict.
