EBRD commits over $7 billion to Ukraine since 2022
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has provided Ukraine with €7 billion in financial assistance since February 2022, the institution announced on X.
The EBRD has become Ukraine’s largest institutional lender, allocating funds to help stabilise the country’s economy amid the ongoing conflict, Caliber.Az reports.
The bank said its current financial support is focused on restoring critical infrastructure, supporting businesses, and ensuring energy security.
EBRD stated that it continues to play a central role in supporting Ukraine as the country faces the ongoing challenges resulting from the conflict.
Note that, as of April 2025, the European Union (EU) and its member states have provided approximately €135.4 billion in support to Ukraine since Russia's invasion in February 2022. This comprehensive assistance encompasses financial, military, humanitarian, and refugee support.
Financial, economic, and humanitarian aid totals €67.7 billion, including €28.2 billion in macro-financial assistance and €19.6 billion disbursed under the Ukraine Facility, a €50 billion instrument supporting Ukraine's recovery and reforms from 2024 to 2027.
Military support amounts to €49.2 billion, combining €6.1 billion from the European Peace Facility and €43.1 billion in bilateral contributions from EU member states.
In October 2024, the EU agreed to provide Ukraine with up to €35 billion in financial aid by 2025, following prolonged negotiations.
Additionally, the EU has allocated €17 billion to support Ukrainian refugees within its borders and has utilized €1.5 billion from the proceeds of immobilized Russian assets to aid Ukraine.
Overall, the EU's multifaceted support underscores its commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty, recovery, and integration into the European community.
