FM: Lithuania officially withdraws from anti-personnel landmine treaty
28 June 2025 15:49
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys has announced that Lithuania officially notified the United Nations of its decision to withdraw from the treaty banning anti-personnel landmines.
The withdrawal will take effect six months after the notification is submitted, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The parliaments of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, and Poland - all NATO and EU members sharing borders with Russia - have approved their countries’ exits from the treaty, citing heightened military threats from their neighbor.
