Israel faces surge of Iranian cyberattacks on key systems
A series of Iranian cyberattacks has targeted companies and critical infrastructure across Israel in recent weeks.
Data from the Israel National Cyber Directorate (INCD) shows that more than ten companies were attacked, many of which provide IT and digital services to key sectors of the Israeli economy, Caliber.Az reports per Israeli media outlet Ynet.
Among the affected institutions was the Shamir Assaf Harofeh Medical Centre, which was also hit by hackers.
The attack was contained before it could compromise the hospital’s central medical record system.
The directorate’s investigation revealed that in several cases, attackers used stolen usernames and passwords to gain access to the targeted systems.
Although most attacks did not disrupt operations, some resulted in data leaks.
INCD urged the public to operate with greater awareness and caution, and to immediately report any suspicious activity.
