UK prime minister to advocate for long-range weapons supplies to Ukraine
On 24 October, during a meeting in London of leaders from the “coalition of the willing,” UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer plans to urge his counterparts to “intensify pressure on Russia ahead of winter.”
In particular, Starmer will call for the delivery of long-range weapons to Ukraine and the confiscation of frozen Russian assets, according to a statement published on the UK government’s website, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Starmer is also expected to announce the acceleration of a British air defence missile production programme “to deliver 100 missiles to Ukraine ahead of schedule” in the near future.
The meeting will be attended by leaders from more than 20 countries, as well as NATO representatives. Discussions will also cover “measures to remove Russian oil and gas from the global market” and possible ways to “protect Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.”
