Zelenskyy: Ukraine war could end within six months amid new diplomatic push
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has suggested that the war in Ukraine could potentially conclude within six months.
During a visit to Cyprus, Zelenskyy indicated that negotiations with European partners, the United States, and other coalition members had reached a new stage, creating conditions that could allow for an end to hostilities in the near future, Caliber.Az reports via Bild.
He stressed that lasting peace would require sustained pressure on the source of the conflict and highlighted the pivotal role of the European Union in maintaining that pressure. Zelenskyy also underlined the importance of continuing sanctions against Russia, arguing that each financial loss weakens Moscow’s position as an aggressor.
Earlier, at a summit in Paris, Ukraine received assurances of security guarantees in the event of a ceasefire. France, the United Kingdom, and several other countries expressed willingness to deploy troops to Ukraine, while additional states, including Germany, pledged to provide military support from outside the country.
