Zelenskyy: Russia’s attacks amount to war on Ukrainian people
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has described Russia’s strikes on energy and infrastructure as “a war against our people,” saying they are intended to break the country rather than achieve any military objective.
Speaking on his Telegram channel, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to repair crews and services working through the night to restore electricity, heating, and water supplies in the Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia regions.
He said power had been fully restored in Zaporizhzhia and was being returned according to schedule, while work continues in Dnipro, Kamianske, Kryvyi Rih, Nikopol, Pavlohrad and other towns.
“All necessary resources, equipment and personnel have been mobilised to resolve the situation. I have instructed Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko to provide full support to local authorities,” Zelenskyy wrote.
The president urged international partners to respond to Russia’s actions and provide maximum support to Ukraine, including air defence systems and equipment that can protect civilians.
“This is Russia’s war against our people, an attempt to break Ukraine. That is why maintaining our resilience and all forms of support for our state must be fully operational. Diplomatic negotiations cannot be used as a reason to delay deliveries of air defence systems and other equipment that save lives. We are working with partners to ensure an adequate response,” he added.
