Military chief: Ukrainian forces counter Russian marine infantry
Ukrainian troops are effectively neutralising a Russian marine infantry unit deployed for offensive operations in the Dobropillia sector, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrskyi said during a working trip to the front.
According to the military chief, he visited the Pokrovsk and Dobropillia directions, where the situation requires constant attention, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
At the command post of one of the army corps, he met with local commanders to review the operational situation and to consider proposals for further active measures aimed at defeating Russian forces.
Syrskyi noted that Ukrainian forces are finding effective ways to counter the Russian marine infantry units that Moscow has deployed to sustain its offensive. He added that during the meeting, he issued orders to ensure the supply of ammunition, drones, and electronic warfare equipment to Ukrainian units in the sector.
The commander-in-chief emphasised that soldiers of the Armed Forces and the National Guard are holding back enemy advances while regaining control over parts of Donetsk Oblast. He underlined that the main task of commanders is to use resources as efficiently as possible and to protect their personnel.
