Moldovan deputy PM voices solidarity with Azerbaijan after Iran's drone strikes PHOTO

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi on March 6, during which the Moldovan official expressed strong solidarity with Azerbaijan following Iran’s drone attacks, conveyed his country’s condemnation of the incident, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.

Thanking the Azerbaijani leader for the reception, Popșoi also delivered the greetings of Moldova’s President Maia Sandu to Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports, citing the presidential website.

President Aliyev expressed gratitude for the greetings and asked that his own regards be conveyed to Sandu. He also recalled with satisfaction his previous meetings and discussions with the Moldovan president held within the framework of international organisations.

The Moldovan deputy prime minister noted with satisfaction the friendly relations between the two nations, adding that Moldova always remembers and highly appreciates Azerbaijan’s support during difficult periods for his country.

President Aliyev thanked the Moldovan side for its expressed position.

The sides also noted with satisfaction that Azerbaijan and Moldova consistently support each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. They highlighted the steady development of bilateral relations and the deepening of cooperation in political, economic, trade, energy and other fields, as well as the role of mutual visits at various levels in expanding ties.

Confidence was expressed that Popșoi’s visit would contribute to further strengthening cooperation.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on cooperation within international organisations, intensifying political dialogue, and other issues of mutual interest.
