Norway gives green light to $4.6 billion increase in Ukrainian financial aid
The Norwegian government has approved a previously announced increase in aid to Ukraine in 2025 by 50 billion kroner ($4.6 billion).
The decision follows a March 6 agreement among Norway's parliamentary leaders, Caliber.Az reports citing Norwegian media.
This latest boost raises the total assistance offered by Norway to 85 billion Norwegian kroner ($7.8 billion).
According to Norwegian Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg, who previously served as the NATO Secretary General for 10 years, the country is going to triple it's military support to Ukraine. He did clarify, however, that the money will be used abroad and thus will not contribute to pressure on the Norwegian economy.
As such, Norway has been one of Ukraine's most committed European backers in the provision of military aid as well as humanitarian assistance and financial support.
