Israeli forces advance in southern Syria following Quneitra operations

On January 17, Israeli forces conducted another incursion near the villages of Maariya and Abdin in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa province in southern Syria.
The head of the municipal council for these villages, Muzaffak Mahmoud, told Syrian agency SANA that a unit of 20 soldiers, along with three Hilux pickup trucks and a military jeep, was present in the area between the two villages in the morning, after which Israeli forces withdrew from the territory.
The previous day, Israeli troops advanced into the villages of Ein-Zivan and Suwaisa in the southern part of Quneitra province.
