Panic in the sky: Swiss flight makes emergency landing in Germany
Panic gripped the skies over Europe after an unexpected emergency situation unfolded aboard a passenger aircraft. Travellers experienced moments of fear when the flight was forced to make an emergency route change.
According to SRF, passengers on the Swiss International flight from Belgrade to Zurich were thrown into a state of stress when thick smoke suddenly filled the cabin.
To prevent a potential tragedy, the pilots quickly decided to make an emergency landing at Friedrichshafen Airport near Lake Constance.
There were 115 passengers and four crew members on board. All were swiftly evacuated after landing. No injuries have been officially reported, although authorities are still clarifying whether anyone may have sustained minor harm.
Firefighters, emergency responders, and police were on the scene, ensuring passenger safety and launching an investigation.
Preliminary reports suggest that a malfunction in the air conditioning system may have caused the smoke. Technical specialists are already inspecting the aircraft.
An investigation is ongoing.
