Party leader: Macron’s Russia remarks spark fears of escalating tensions
Florian Philippot, leader of the French political party The Patriots, has criticized French President Emmanuel Macron's position, accusing him of diverging from the path to peace.
According to Philippot's statement on X, Macron's recent comments about an alleged “existential threat” posed by Russia to Europe contradict the emerging dialogue between Washington and Moscow, suggesting an agenda to prolong confrontation, Caliber.Az reports.
Au moment où les États-Unis et la #Russie annoncent un « partenariat stratégique », où les affaires vont reprendre, la paix venir,#Macron déclare, lui, ce matin en interview que la Russie est pour nous « une menace existentielle » ! 🤦🏻♂️

“Macron, in his interview, claims that Russia poses an ‘existential threat’ to us. In doing so, he is distancing us from the global trend towards peace, dialogue, and prosperity! And after this, he invited political parties to discuss the matter with him at a meeting. He clearly wants war,” Philippot wrote on X.
Macron’s comments have sparked controversy, with critics arguing that they could further escalate tensions rather than promote diplomatic engagement.
