Passenger flight in Denver delayed after ammo magazine discovery
Passengers on a Frontier Airlines flight were forced to deplane at the gate in Denver after an ammunition magazine was discovered on board as the aircraft was preparing for departure, ABC News reports.
Frontier Airlines said preliminary findings indicate that the magazine likely belonged to a law enforcement officer who may have left it behind on a previous flight.
There were no injuries reported. All passengers were deplaned and rescreened as a precaution, while the aircraft underwent a full security sweep. According to the airline, nothing additional was found on board.
Flight 4765 was scheduled to operate from Denver to Phoenix. Due to the resulting delay, the flight crew exceeded their permitted duty time, and passengers were rebooked onto an alternative service that departed on May 11 morning, Frontier Airlines said.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) said it is aware of the incident, while the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is leading the investigation.
