Pentagon announces record arms export figures
The US Department of Defence has announced that the US could generate over $100 billion in revenue from arms sales abroad by the end of the 2024 fiscal year.
“Arms sales abroad have already surpassed $80 billion in the 2024 fiscal year, with projections indicating they may exceed $100 billion by the year’s end. For comparison, the US earned $66.2 billion from arms sales in the 2023 fiscal year and $49.7 billion in 2022,” the US Department of Defence said, Caliber.Az reports citing the Russian media.
The Pentagon attributes the increased global demand for American weaponry to the US arms supply to Ukraine, which began in 2022.
To date, the US has provided approximately $55.3 billion in military assistance since Russia launched invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and approximately $58.1 billion in military assistance since Russia’s initial invasion of Ukraine in 2014.
