Poland, Sweden sign defence agreement
Poland and Sweden have signed an agreement on cooperation in the defence industry, Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz has announced.
“Today we signed an agreement on cooperation in the defence industry. We already have good experience in this field,” the minister said during a meeting with Swedish counterpart Pål Jonson, as cited by the ministry’s press service, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
“We are trusted allies, and I know that we can rely on each other. The agreement we have signed takes our cooperation to a new level,” Kosiniak-Kamysz stated.
“Sweden has been our important strategic partner since joining NATO,” he emphasised.
Sweden joined NATO in March 2024, becoming a key ally for Poland, which views the alliance as critical for countering Russian threats. The agreement strengthens their strategic partnership, focusing on the Baltic region’s security.
