Poland to deploy Patriot system at Warsaw airport
The Ministry of Defence of Poland will place the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system at the Warsaw Babice airport.
Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced this on Twitter on February 5.
According to the minister's statement, the Patriot launchers will be moved from Sochaczew to the airport in Warsaw's Bemowo.
“This is an important element in the training of soldiers of the 3rd Warsaw Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade,” the report says.
Earlier in February, German Defence Minister Christina Lambrecht agreed with Polish Minister Blaszczak to deploy Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems on Polish territory. However, it was then specified that Warsaw has been waiting for details from Berlin about the versions of the air defence system that are planned to be transferred, and their number.
