It emphasised that all related activities would take place inside Poland, following a report by Reuters that Polish troops might be sent to Ukraine to receive training on drone interception.
The announcement came a day after Polish Chief of the General Staff General Wiesław Kukuła and Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi held talks on protocols for sharing information about aerial threats.
The issue has gained urgency following a series of cross-border incidents. Between the night of September 9 and 10, nearly 20 Russian drones crossed into Polish airspace, with debris from 15 of them later discovered in various regions.
On September 12, Marcin Przydacz, the senior foreign policy adviser to President Karol Nawrocki, said in a radio interview that the confirmed number of drones violating Polish airspace had risen to 21.
