Polish soldier injured in border incident with migrants near Belarus

A Polish soldier was injured on August 25 while responding to an attempted illegal border crossing near Czeremcha, in northeastern Poland, close to the Belarusian frontier.

According to the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, the soldier, part of the Podlasie Task Force, was wounded in his left hand during "the use of direct coercive measures against a group of aggressive migrants around 8:00 PM local time," Caliber.Az reports via the command's post on X.

He received first aid at the scene before being transported to a hospital in Białystok for specialised treatment. Officials reported that his condition is stable and there is no threat to his life.

The incident is under investigation by the Military Police, who are conducting inquiries at the site.
