President Aliyev approves grant agreement with World Customs Organization
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on approval of the grant agreement “On Customs Cooperation Fund” between the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan and the World Customs Organization, Caliber.Az reports, citing the president's press service.
Let's recall that on June 29, 2024, during the 143rd/144th Sessions of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council at WCO headquarters in Brussels, a Grant Agreement was signed between the WCO and the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This agreement established the Azerbaijan Customs Cooperation Fund (CCF Azerbaijan), aiming to enhance customs cooperation and capacity building along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor.
The CCF Azerbaijan will support various activities, including the training of Customs officials, the organization of seminars, workshops, and meetings for beneficiary Customs administrations, the promotion of trade facilitation, the improvement of compliance and enforcement, the enhancement of Customs modernization, and the development of competencies and capacities of Customs officials.
