President Aliyev approves law "On Mine Action"

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved the law "On Mine Action".

The law defines legal, economic, social and organisational bases of demining activities in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via the president's press service.

The document stipulates that the financing of mine action will be sourced from the state budget, as well as other legal financial avenues. 

However, the law explicitly excludes mine action operations carried out by Azerbaijan's Armed Forces for the country’s defence and security purposes.
