President Aliyev attends inauguration of Lachin Electric Network Digital Control Center PHOTO

On May 27, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration ceremony of the Lachin Electric Network Digital Control Center.

Vugar Ahmadov, Chairman of Azerishig Open Joint-Stock Company, briefed the president on the significant progress achieved at the facility, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The newly established centre is designed to provide uninterrupted and reliable electricity supply to Lachin city, covering newly built residential complexes as well as industrial, social, agricultural, and tourism sectors currently under development. It represents a cutting-edge solution that digitally monitors and controls the electrical network by collecting and processing real-time data on the system’s status.

Equipped with two 1600 kVA power transformers and advanced 35 kV and 0.4 kV indoor distribution units, the centre is connected to the grid via dual-circuit power transmission lines spanning 4.8 kilometres from the "Lachin" substation. This state-of-the-art equipment ensures high-precision technological measurements, promotes reliable network operation, minimises energy transmission losses, and reduces overall operational costs.

An integrated online notification system alerts consumers in advance about planned power outages. The centre also facilitates the seamless integration and automatic management of renewable energy sources within the grid, effectively eliminating electricity supply interruptions.

The multifunctional substation operates dynamically based on electricity volume, coordinating the interaction of devices and equipment. All control functions are performed remotely within the closed-type substation, eliminating the need for permanent on-site staff.
