President Aliyev attends opening of Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex PHOTO
On September 27, President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan took part in the inauguration of the Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex.
During the visit, Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov briefed the President on the extensive facilities available at the complex, local media reports.
Construction of the complex, which began in 2024, spans 5.8 hectares and offers a wide range of sports and support facilities.
The site includes outdoor sports fields, a stadium, and a universal sports hall with seating for 1,100 spectators. It also houses specialised areas for wrestling, judo, artistic gymnastics, boxing, kickboxing, taekwondo, and karate, along with fitness and gym halls and a swimming pool.
In addition, the complex provides comprehensive support amenities, including a meeting room, café, rooms for referees, coaches, doctors, and commentators, a restaurant, and a 42-room hotel building.
The Yevlakh Olympic Sports Complex is set to host the boxing competitions during the 3rd CIS Games held in Azerbaijan.
