President Aliyev: Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan elevate ties to alliance level

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has announced that Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan are elevating their bilateral relations to the level of an alliance, describing it as the highest stage of cooperation between the two countries.

Speaking at the third meeting of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Interstate Council in the city of Cholpon-Ata, the head of state said: "Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan are elevating the level of their relations to an alliance. This is the highest level of interaction," Caliber.Az reports via state media.

During the meeting, President Aliyev also expressed gratitude to Kyrgyzstan for its contribution to the reconstruction of Azerbaijan's Garabagh region, highlighting the symbolic importance of the Manas school built in the Aghdam district.

"I would also like to express my gratitude for the assistance in the restoration of Garabagh. The school that you and I opened together in the Agdam district is named after Manas, and children are already studying there. This school is another symbol of our brotherhood and will forever remain a monument to the unity of our peoples. This is appreciated not only by the residents of Garabagh, but by all of Azerbaijan," the president said.

Aliyev also praised the growing humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, pointing to recent cultural exchanges as evidence of strengthening ties.

"I am also glad about how successfully our relations are developing in the humanitarian sphere: the Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan in Azerbaijan and the Days of Azerbaijan in Kyrgyzstan, which have been held recently, have once again demonstrated how rich our culture is and how in-demand such events are, revealing more fully the creative potential of our peoples," he noted.

The Azerbaijani leader further announced plans to expand the activities of the Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan Development Fund by increasing its financial resources.

"I am glad that the Kyrgyzstan-Azerbaijan Fund is operating successfully. We have made a decision to increase the fund's resources, and several projects are already being implemented. I am confident that as the fund's activities expand, the number of projects will grow. This will serve our common goals," President Aliyev said.
