President Aliyev: Azerbaijan-Iran relations will continue to strengthen
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, on the occasion of Iran’s national holiday marking the Victory of the Islamic Revolution.
In his message, President Aliyev extended his “heartfelt congratulations” to President Pezeshkian and the people of Iran, highlighting the importance of the close ties between Azerbaijan and Iran, Caliber.Az reports, citing state media.
“The development of relations between our peoples and countries, bound together by common religious-cultural roots and the ties of good-neighborliness, holds special importance for us,” he wrote.
Referring to the recent intensification of bilateral relations, Aliyev noted, “Your official and working visits to Azerbaijan last year opened a new chapter in the history of interstate relations and gave impetus to the development of our mutually beneficial cooperation.”
He further emphasized the growing scope of cooperation, stating, “The intensive nature of visits at various levels, the documents signed, the joint projects implemented, including the effective work of the State Commission, create favorable opportunities for deepening our cooperation in areas of mutual interest.”
President Aliyev expressed confidence that “Azerbaijan-Iran relations and cooperation will continue to strengthen through our joint efforts in line with the interests of our friendly and brotherly peoples.” He concluded by wishing the Iranian people “enduring peace and prosperity” and President Pezeshkian “robust health, happiness, and success in your endeavors.”
