President Aliyev: "Azerbaijan isolates Armenia from main pillars of Muslim world"

Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev has said that Azerbaijan had to expose Armenia’s aggressive policy.

The president made the remarks in his speech to servicemen in Shusha on November 8, according to APA.

President Aliyev noted that unfortunately, international media resources controlled by Armenia, politicians supporting Armenia for money, foreign patrons, the Armenian lobby created the opinion that Azerbaijan is an aggressor.

He noted that in general, the international approach was positive during the 44 days of the war.

"Frankly speaking, some pro-Armenian countries and countries having close ties with Armenia have tried to take some political steps against us. However, they did not give any result because over the years we have received strong international support. Azerbaijan was elected chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement", the president said.

Aliyev also noted on the fact, that "Our chairmanship was unanimously approved. Moreover, our chairmanship was extended for another year upon unanimous decision. It is an international organization uniting most of the international community".

"Some 120 countries are members of this institute. We have established close relations with Muslim countries and managed to explain to them that Armenia is pursuing an aggressive policy not only against us, but also against the entire Muslim world", President Aliyev said.

"Those who destroy mosques cannot be friends of Muslim countries. The leaders of Muslim countries cannot embrace those who destroy mosques, can they? They can't hug and kiss them", he noted.

The president further added, that "This is hypocrisy, this is betrayal. It has no other name. That is why we have isolated Armenia from the main pillars of the Muslim world".

"True, we did not succeed in completely isolating it, there are other reasons for this - the hypocrisy that I spoke about. However, in general, thanks to our efforts, Armenia has been recognized in the Muslim world as a country that destroys and insults mosques", President Aliyev concluded.
