President Aliyev congratulates Germany’s new Chancellor Friedrich Merz, vows stronger ties
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent his heartfelt congratulations to Friedrich Merz following his election as the Federal Chancellor of Germany.
In a statement posted on the official website of the Azerbaijani presidency, President Aliyev expressed his sincere wishes to Chancellor Merz, per Caliber.Az.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on your election as Federal Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany. I wish you every success in your responsible work for the prosperity of the friendly people of Germany,” said President Aliyev.
The President further highlighted the importance of Azerbaijan-Germany relations, noting their extensive and growing partnership. "Azerbaijan-Germany relations are characterised by a broad agenda. We attach great importance to the development of friendly and cooperative ties between our countries in all areas – particularly in the fields of economy, trade, energy, including alternative and renewable energy, as well as in the humanitarian and other sectors,” President Aliyev wrote in his congratulatory letter.
The letter concluded with a message of optimism for the future of bilateral ties. “I am confident that, through our joint efforts and in accordance with the interests of our peoples, we will continue to strengthen relations between Azerbaijan and Germany, expand our cooperation of mutual interest both bilaterally and multilaterally, and enrich it with new content,” the President affirmed.
