President Aliyev hails new era in Azerbaijan–Japan partnership Letter to newly elected PM
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has extended his congratulations to Japan’s newly elected Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, in a letter reaffirming Azerbaijan’s commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.
In his letter, President Aliyev expressed his warm wishes to the new Japanese leader, Caliber.Az reports via AZERTAC.
“Dear Madame Prime Minister,
I sincerely congratulate you on your election as Prime Minister of Japan,” the letter by the Azerbaijani president says.
The President highlighted the strategic significance Baku places on its ties with Tokyo, noting the strong foundation of bilateral relations and the potential for future growth:
“We attach special importance to the comprehensive development of Azerbaijan–Japan relations. At present, there are excellent opportunities to further enrich cooperation between our two countries with new content in various fields.”
Looking ahead, Aliyev expressed confidence that both countries would work together to advance shared interests:
“I am confident that, in line with the interests of our peoples, we will make joint efforts to strengthen our interstate relations and expand our mutually beneficial cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral levels, fully utilizing the existing potential.”
The letter concluded with a personal note of goodwill:
“Once again, I convey my congratulations to you and wish you good health, happiness, and success in your responsible state activities for the well-being of the friendly people of Japan.”
