President Aliyev holds strategic talks with Bundestag Foreign Affairs chief in Munich photo
On February 14, 2026, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, held a meeting in Munich with Armin Laschet, Chairman of the Bundestag Committee on Foreign Affairs.
According to Caliber.Az, the information was published on the official website of the Azerbaijani Head of State.
During the discussion, both sides recalled with satisfaction Aliyev’s previous meetings with Laschet.
Armin Laschet congratulated President Aliyev on the progress achieved in Washington in advancing the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia. In response, Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude, emphasizing that the establishment of peace is crucial for the development of the entire region.
The meeting also addressed Azerbaijan’s initiatives aimed at promoting peace and regional cooperation.
It was stressed that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Germany are expanding across multiple spheres, including political, trade and economic, energy, and other sectors.
The role of Azerbaijan in ensuring Europe’s energy security was highlighted. The leaders also exchanged views on strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation and discussed prospects for further development of bilateral relations.
Furthermore, the discussion underscored Azerbaijan’s contribution to interreligious and intercultural dialogue, noting the importance of sharing this experience within international frameworks.
