President Aliyev holds talks with Ukrainian counterpart at World Economic Forum PHOTO
On January 22, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Davos at the latter’s request.
The two leaders discussed a range of key issues, including political, economic, and humanitarian relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azertac.
The conversation also focused on cooperation in the energy sector. The two leaders also addressed regional security matters.
Notably, President Ilham Aliyev is taking part at the 55th annual World Economic Forum in the Swiss city of Davos, joining other global leaders to discuss key challenges and opportunities for sustainable development and innovation.
The WEF has been held for 55 years in the heart of the Swiss Alps in the ski resort of Davos. The main theme of this year's forum, which commenced on January 20 and will last for 4 days, is “Collaboration for the Intelligent Age”.
Key topics include trade dynamics, economic growth, and international cooperation. These include responding to geopolitical shocks, stimulating growth to improve living standards, and stewarding a just and inclusive energy transition.
The forum is expected to be attended by about 3,000 representatives from more than 130 countries, including 60 heads of state and government and 900 CEOs of the world's leading companies.
