Azerbaijani president addresses ministerial meeting on Southern Gas Corridor in Baku PHOTO / UPDATED

President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan has addressed the 12th ministerial meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 4th ministerial meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council, taking place at the Baku Convention Center on March 3

The president's speech was followed by remarks from EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen, per state media.

The meetings bring together representatives from 27 countries, including Azerbaijan and EU member states, 11 international financial institutions and organisations, and 49 energy companies. Ministers, deputy ministers, and other senior officials are participating.

Following the opening session, the agenda continues with a ministerial session and plenary discussions on “Southern Gas Corridor: Sustainable Success and New Development Phase” and “Green Energy Projects.”

An Azerbaijan–European Union investment roundtable will also take place within the Advisory Council framework. The event will conclude with a press conference.

Notably, ministerial meetings under the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council have been held since February 2015.
