President Aliyev lauds growing partnership with Uzbekistan during high-level talks PHOTO
On June 20, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Laziz Kudratov, the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Commission.
During the meeting, President Ilham Aliyev noted that Minister Kudratov’s visit to Azerbaijan provided an excellent opportunity to review and discuss matters on the bilateral agenda, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
He emphasised the significant number of joint projects currently underway between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, underscoring that these initiatives are a reflection of the strong, friendly, and multifaceted ties between the two nations.
Minister Kudratov, in turn, thanked President Aliyev for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings from the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. He shared that President Mirziyoyev is preparing for an official visit to Azerbaijan and has instructed the Uzbek government to ensure the trip delivers tangible and practical outcomes.
President Aliyev expressed his appreciation for the message and asked Minister Kudratov to convey his own warm greetings to President Mirziyoyev.
Kudratov also highlighted the efforts being made to promote priority areas of cooperation defined by the two leaders during President Aliyev’s state visit to Uzbekistan last year. The discussions during the meeting reflected the positive momentum in economic and trade relations and touched on expanding partnerships in industry, transportation, logistics, and the development of new joint projects.
