President Aliyev: No problems with grain supply in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that as is known, as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war, many countries are physically unable to provide their population with wheat and grain because Russia and Ukraine are the main grain exporters, but the war, of course, has created very big obstacles in this issue.
“However, there are no problems in this sphere in Azerbaijan,” President Aliyev said in an interview with Azerbaijani television in Basgal settlement of the Ismayilli district on August 12, Caliber.Az reports referring to Azertag.
“We traditionally buy both grain and fertilizers in Russia. As a result of the agreements reached with our Russian partners, Azerbaijan will export and export as many fertilizers and grain as we want. As for fertilizers, as you know, we have already become fertilizer producers ourselves and even export carbamide fertilizers. However, other fertilizers are imported to Azerbaijan,” the president said.
President Aliyev noted that these factors are the reality and we live a real life.
“We conduct and will conduct practical work to fully insure ourselves against all problems. I am sure that we will be able to greatly increase crop yields through irrigation projects, the correct implementation of agrotechnical and other measures and subsidies to get more crops on the sown areas in the coming years,” the president added.
