President Aliyev receives credentials of Egypt’s new ambassador PHOTO
On October 16, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador of Egypt to Azerbaijan, Hossam El-Din Reda.
President Aliyev congratulated Egypt on the high-level organisation of the Middle East Peace Summit held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Caliber.Az reports, citing the president's official website.
He praised the invitation extended to Azerbaijan by U.S. President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, calling it a sign of trust and friendship.
Ilham Aliyev recalled with satisfaction the Egyptian President’s visit to Azerbaijan, as well as his own official visit to Egypt, noting progress on the issues discussed during those meetings.
The parties highlighted the importance of the work of the intergovernmental commission, and it was noted that its next meeting will take place soon.
The sides emphasised that direct flights between Baku, Sharm El-Sheikh, and Cairo contribute to the development of tourism links. The meeting also discussed prospects for cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian fields.
