Azerbaijan, ExxonMobil discuss expansion of oil, gas development PHOTO
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with ExxonMobil Vice President John Ardill on June 2 to discuss ongoing cooperation in Azerbaijan’s oil and gas sector. The talks included details about the upcoming Memorandum of Understanding between SOCAR and ExxonMobil aimed at further developing the country’s energy resources.
The upcoming agreement is set to be signed on June 2, Caliber.Az reports citing Azertag.
Ardill conveyed greetings from ExxonMobil CEO Darren Woods, which President Aliyev reciprocated. Discussions highlighted ExxonMobil’s longstanding presence in Azerbaijan, particularly its participation as a shareholder in the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) project, one of the country’s most significant oil fields.
The representatives of the company specifically noted the favourable environment in Azerbaijan for the development of its oil and gas and energy sectors.
