Azerbaijani President, Finnish FM share views on prospects for bilateral ties PHOTO / UPDATED
On October 15, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the current OSCE Chairperson, Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the recent meetings between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Finland, as well as Finland’s high-level participation in the COP29 event held in Baku, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani president's website.
Elina Valtonen congratulated Ilham Aliyev on the successes achieved by Azerbaijan and Armenia in Washington, noting their significance for regional cooperation and the restoration of peace and stability within the OSCE area.
The guest also reported that, following requests from Azerbaijan and Armenia, the OSCE Minsk process and its associated structures will be dissolved by 1 December this year.
Aliyev emphasised that the agreements reached in Washington, under the witness of U.S. President Donald Trump, created favorable conditions for advancing the peace agenda.favourable
The president highlighted the importance of the TRIPP project for regional cooperation, stressing its potential benefits for the entire region.
The meeting also covered Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the OSCE and included an exchange of views on the prospects for bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Finland.
