President Aliyev welcomes Slovakia’s role in rebuilding Garabagh, praises stronger ties
President Ilham Aliyev has praised the current state of Azerbaijan-Slovakia relations, describing political ties between the two countries as being at a very high level and highlighting Bratislava’s active involvement in the reconstruction of Garabagh.
Speaking during a joint press statement with President of Slovakia Peter Pellegrini in Shusha on July 14, Aliyev also addressed the prospects of further cooperation between the two countries and highlighted the importance of concrete projects in strengthening bilateral ties, Caliber.Az reports per state media.
“I am glad that Azerbaijan-Slovakia relations are developing successfully. Our political contacts are regular,” President Ilham Aliyev emphasised.
He underlined that the regular political dialogue between Baku and Bratislava reflects the steady progress achieved in bilateral ties, saying: “Today, Azerbaijan-Slovakia political relations are at a very high level.”
According to the president, mutual visits between the two countries serve as a clear indication of the strength and growing momentum of cooperation.
“I am confident that these relations will continue to develop in the future as well. Because we are in favor of concrete actions,” said President Ilham Aliyev.
“Both sides attach great importance to bilateral relations. I can say that a very strong partnership has been established in recent years,” the head of state emphasised, highlighting the importance of maintaining a practical approach to further cooperation.
Speaking about Slovakia’s role in Azerbaijan’s reconstruction efforts, President Aliyev highlighted Bratislava’s active participation in the development of Garabagh.
“We are very pleased that Slovakia is actively participating in the reconstruction of Garabagh,” the Azerbaijani leader stated.
“Today, together with Mr. President, we will visit the village of Bash Garvand in the Aghdam district. A Slovak company is implementing a ‘smart village’ project there, and we will familiarize ourselves with its progress,” the head of state said, once again expressing his gratitude to the President of Slovakia for his country's support for the reconstruction of Garabagh.
