President: Azerbaijan’s victory complete, reconstruction of Garabagh underway PHOTO

During a visit to the villages of Ashaghi Oratagh, Childiran, Heyvali, and Chapar in the Aghdara district, President Ilham Aliyev affirmed Azerbaijan’s restored sovereignty and territorial integrity, expressing confidence that the nation will not face war again.

“The longing of many long years is now behind us; justice and righteousness have prevailed with victory. Azerbaijan has fully restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty,” President Aliyev said, Caliber.Az reports via state media.

 “Azerbaijanis have returned to their ancestral lands and will live here with pride. They will live happily and comfortably. I am confident that from now on there will be no more war. The state of Azerbaijan is a strong state.”

Highlighting the ongoing return of citizens to formerly occupied territories, Aliyev noted the steady increase in resettlement across Garabagh. “Over the past two years—since the anti-terror operation in 2023—life has been restored across all these regions: Aghdara, Khojaly, Khankendi, and Khojavand. Today, already 73,000 people—both former internally displaced persons and those who are not displaced but are working, employed, or studying in the liberated territories—have settled there. And every month, the number of citizens returning to Garabagh is increasing,” he said.

President Aliyev also paid tribute to the nation’s martyrs, emphasizing that their sacrifices will never be forgotten. “We will forever cherish the memory of our martyrs in our hearts,” he said. “I must also state that we have already avenged our martyrs on the battlefield. Their blood did not go unavenged.”

Reflecting on the scale and speed of Azerbaijan’s military success, Aliyev remarked, “Over the past 80 years, there has not been a second country that has achieved a victory as complete and absolute as Azerbaijan’s. There have been wars and conflicts, and they continue to this day. However, none of them have resulted in such a complete and absolute victory. But as a great nation, we achieved this—and we did it in just 44 days, followed by a subsequent operation lasting only a single day.”

Looking ahead, the President outlined ambitious reconstruction plans for Aghdara. “We will rebuild the city of Aghdara as well, just as we have already revitalized nine villages. We will construct the city too,” he said.

Emphasizing its potential as a hub for industry and tourism, Aliyev added, “These refreshing places are a delight to the eye. Mountains, forests, fresh air, springs, and rivers are everywhere. That is why the future development of Aghdara will be very bright.”
