President Ilham Aliyev congratulates Vladimir Putin on Russia Day

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory message to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of Russia Day.

In his message, President Aliyev extended his “heartfelt congratulations” to President Putin and, through him, to the people of Russia, wishing them well-being and prosperity on their national holiday, Caliber.Az reports via state media.

The Azerbaijani head of state noted that relations between Azerbaijan and Russia are based on “centuries-old traditions of friendship, good-neighbourliness and mutual respect” that unite the two peoples.

He also expressed satisfaction with the steady development of bilateral cooperation, highlighting progress in trade, economic relations, as well as expanding interregional, cultural and humanitarian ties.

President Aliyev expressed confidence that joint efforts would continue to strengthen Azerbaijani-Russian relations and enhance multifaceted cooperation “in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance,” for the benefit of both nations.

He concluded by wishing President Putin good health and continued success in his duties, and extended his best wishes to the citizens of Russia on their national day.
