President Ilham Aliyev receives birthday congratulations from global leaders
On December 24, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will celebrate his 64th birthday.
Congratulations have already begun arriving from international leaders, highlighting President Aliyev’s role in strengthening Azerbaijan’s global standing and advancing bilateral partnerships, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
In a message from Chinese President Xi Jinping, he highlighted the rapid development of China–Azerbaijan relations.
“Under our strategic leadership, China–Azerbaijan relations as a comprehensive strategic partnership are developing rapidly. Political mutual trust between our two countries continues to strengthen, and mutually beneficial cooperation is steadily advancing, with international interaction being implemented fruitfully,” Xi wrote.
He added that over the course of this year, the two leaders had met twice, and “the important agreements we reached are being effectively and comprehensively put into practice.”
Xi concluded by wishing President Aliyev “good health and well-being” and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, also conveyed his congratulations. “Under your wise leadership, fraternal Azerbaijan has achieved remarkable successes in strengthening its statehood, enhancing its international authority, and improving the well-being of its people,” the message read.
It further praised Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations, noting that “these relations are distinguished by a high level of mutual trust and openness, providing a solid foundation for their continued successful development.”
The Turkmen message expressed wishes for Aliyev’s personal health, happiness, and continued success in state activities, as well as peace and prosperity for the Azerbaijani people.
Aleksandr Lukashenko, President of Belarus, praised Aliyev’s leadership and Azerbaijan’s growing international authority. In his message, Lukashenko wrote: “Thanks to your political wisdom and firm will, the Republic of Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its international authority and achieve its set goals. In Belarus, we attach particular importance to the strategic partnership between our countries, as well as to the steady development of interstate cooperation in various fields.”
He further expressed his appreciation for Aliyev’s commitment to deepening Belarusian-Azerbaijani dialogue at all levels and wished him “strong health, happiness, and new achievements for the benefit of the Azerbaijani people.”
Nursultan Nazarbayev, First President of Kazakhstan, also conveyed his best wishes, noting Aliyev’s accomplishments and regional impact: “In the interests of the country, you have worthily fulfilled the expectations of your people and of your great father. Thanks to your far-sighted policy, Azerbaijan's international prestige has grown, and a new stage of peace and mutual trust has been established in the region.”
Nazarbayev added his personal greetings, wishing Aliyev “robust health, success in your noble endeavors, and prosperity and further achievements for the fraternal people of Azerbaijan.”
From Bulgaria, President Rumen Radev extended warm congratulations and underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration between the two countries. He stated: “I take this pleasant opportunity to express my conviction that, as a result of our joint efforts, the strategic partnership and excellent relations between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Azerbaijan will continue to actively develop and deepen in the future.”
Radev also referenced upcoming events, including the planned opening of Shusha Park in Veliko Tarnovo and Azerbaijan’s hosting of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), and expressed his readiness to continue high-level dialogue in 2026.
