Caliber.Az presents this publication:
March 31 is observed in Azerbaijan as the Day of the Genocide of Azerbaijanis, commemorating the mass killings of Azerbaijani civilians in March–April 1918. During this period, armed units of Armenian Dashnaks, in coordination with Bolshevik forces and the Baku Soviet, carried out widespread violence in Baku and across the Baku Governorate, as well as in regions including Shamakhi, Guba, Karabakh, Zangezur, and Nakhchivan.
According to official estimates, around 12,000 Azerbaijanis were killed, while tens of thousands went missing. The events were marked by massacres and the destruction of cultural and religious landmarks, including mosques and historic architectural monuments.
