President lham Aliyev attends inauguration of new school in Binagadi district
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the opening of secondary school No 335, built in the Binagadi district of Baku.
The Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev informed the Head of State of the conditions created at the school, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the website of the head of state.
It should be noted that in accordance with President Ilham Aliyev's decree of December 30, 2019, a project for this school was developed in connection with the need to build a new general education institution due to the overcrowding of students in schools in the Binagadi district. The 1,600-seat school, construction of which started in November 2020, has 63 classrooms, 4 computer labs, 2 pre-school classrooms, 5 STEAM classrooms, 2 pres-school rooms, classrooms for basic military training, foreign language, music, drawing, physics, chemistry, biology, a medical centre, a library, a dining hall with 200 seats and an assembly hall with 520 seats. The total area of the four-storey building is 17 thousand 254 square meters.
President Ilham Aliyev viewed conditions created in the pre-school group, basic military training, physics, IT, library, sports hall, chemistry laboratory, diner, and STEAM rooms of the school.
The STEAM project has been applied in our schools since the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year on the initiative of First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva. STEAM education through practical lessons not only helps students to apply scientific, and technical knowledge in everyday life but also to master engineering skills.
It should be noted that the adaptation of the work of educational institutions and curricula to modern challenges, and the formation of human resources in accordance with the modern labour market, are among the priorities of our state. Construction and commissioning of modern schools and renovation and reconstruction of educational institutions are a consistent part of this process. Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been supporting this strategy since 2005 with New School for New Azerbaijan Programme.
Progress and the future of every state are directly related to the level of education. Investments made in this sphere are investments in the future. From this point of view, our state is currently one of the leading countries in the world. No other country has built or reconstructed so many schools in such a short period. One of the most important factors is also equipping the newly built and fundamentally repaired educational institutions with state-of-the-art equipment. By the way, in the 2022-2023 academic year about 70 school buildings will be built or capitally repaired and commissioned, 30 of which will be of modular type.
