Presidential meeting in Baku drives Azerbaijan-Mauritius partnership forward PHOTO
On May 19, a meeting between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Mauritius Dharambeer Gokhool highlighted prospects for strengthening bilateral political dialogue, expanding cooperation in public service governance through the ASAN Service model, and advancing ties in other key sectors.
Expressing gratitude to the guest for attending WUF13, President Ilham Aliyev noted that the visit also provided a valuable opportunity to discuss the development of bilateral relations. The head of state expressed satisfaction with the current level of political ties between Azerbaijan and Mauritius, Caliber.Az reports, citing the presidential website.
Dharambeer Gokhool thanked the President of Azerbaijan for the invitation to WUF13 and emphasised the importance of his visit in discussing various aspects of bilateral relations.
The President of Mauritius, who visited the ASAN Service centre in Baku, said that the conditions created there left a strong impression on him and underlined his interest in applying this experience in his own country.
Ilham Aliyev, speaking about Azerbaijan’s cooperation with various countries regarding the creation of the ASAN model, stated that Azerbaijan is ready to share its experience with Mauritius as well.
The guest also stressed the importance of Azerbaijan hosting a global event such as WUF13. He further expressed gratitude to Ilham Aliyev for the scholarships provided to students from Mauritius.
The meeting also covered cooperation between the two countries within international organisations, the role of mutual visits and contacts at various levels in expanding partnership, and included an exchange of views on broadening ties in the fields of economy, investment, energy, tourism, and other areas.
