Rheinmetall: Germany completes deliveries of all Skynex systems to Ukraine
Ukraine has received all Skynex air‑defence artillery systems pledged by Germany, Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger has confirmed.
He noted that four systems are already deployed in the country’s west, where they protect power plants and other critical infrastructure from Russian drone and cruise‑missile attacks, as reported by the German Aid to Ukraine website.
All components were delivered on schedule, including the final two units, which arrived fully equipped with the maximum number of guns.
Skynex is designed for short‑range defence, where missiles are less effective, and can integrate up to four 35‑mm Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk3 cannons, a Skymaster command post, and an X‑TAR3D tactical radar capable of monitoring airspace within a 50‑km radius and engaging targets up to 4 km away. Its AHEAD ammunition forms a cloud of tungsten sub‑projectiles capable of destroying drones, loitering munitions, and cruise missiles.
All systems are mounted on Rheinmetall HX 8×8 chassis, providing high mobility. Papperger stressed that the last two units arrived fully outfitted and on time.
Separately, deliveries of Skyranger air‑defence vehicles continue. The first Skyranger 35 systems are scheduled to arrive in Ukraine next week, enhancing the protection of critical infrastructure during the winter period.
