The BMC T-155 Fırtına competes with South Korean K9 Thunder and German PzH2000 howitzers in the tender. The winner is expected to be decided by the end of the year.

The technical bid will be considered 70 per cent and the price 30 per cent. The tender is believed to be representative of higher-value procurement packages. The K9 Thunder, manufactured in South Korea, was previously procured by Poland.

However, since the tender will consider high performance in relation to price, BMC believes that the T-155 Fırtına howitzer has a high chance.
The T-155 Fırtına howitzer is a self-propelled artillery weapon system manufactured in Türkiye. It is equipped with a modernised turret, chassis and fire control system. It is the longest-range artillery system in the Turkish Army. It has a range of 18 to 40 kilometres depending on the projectile. At the same time, it has a maximum rate of fire of 6 rounds per minute for 3 minutes, and in "barrage" mode - 3 rounds for 15 seconds.
