Russia slams EU high rep’s statement

Spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova has said that EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell’s statement is wrong.

Zakharova noted that Borrell’s statement about the idea of reconciliation between Russia and Ukraine is wrong.

“European politicians also express a similar opinion about Borrell’s statements,” she said, Kommersant reports.

“This is another terrible statement. No one is surprised at Borrell’s statements in the EU member states. Only Borrell can make such statements. The officials of the EU member states talk to each other, realising that this person’s statements are not marginal, his statements are insane,” Zakharova noted.

Borrell’s article has been recently published in L'Obs magazine, in which he wrote that the desire to make reconciliation with Russia today is as mistaken as it was at the beginning of hostilities.
