Istanbul police crack down on organized crime syndicate VIDEO
Measures were taken against an organised crime group in Türkiye as part of Operation Kuyu-26 on September 18, according to an announcement by Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on his social media platform X.
As a result of operational investigative activities, a large quantity of unlicensed firearms has been seized, Caliber.Az reports citing his message.

“During the operation Kuyu-26, conducted in Istanbul, eight individuals believed to be members of an organised crime gang were detained on suspicion of committing robberies. Six of the suspects have been arrested,” the statement says.
Yerlikaya stated that the suspects were found to have committed the crimes of ‘establishing an organisation for the purpose of committing crime, looting, threatening, grenade attack against a workplace and damaging property’ and added that unlicensed pistols and many cartridges were seized during the operation.
