Kremlin: Pashinyan’s visit to Moscow could take place soon

07 September 2026 08:28

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan could visit Russia in the near future, although no exact dates have been set yet, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told RIA Novosti.

“Already in the near future. There are no exact dates yet,” Peskov said.

He added that the Armenian prime minister’s visit would take place this year.

Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks with Pashinyan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek. During the meeting, the leaders discussed the need to hold a referendum in Armenia to settle the issue of the country’s membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) or potential accession to the European Union.

Following the talks, Putin said he invited the Armenian prime minister to Moscow to discuss specific areas of bilateral cooperation.
