ASTRA: Rosneft oil depot in Sochi reportedly catches fire again PHOTO

A Rosneft oil depot in Sochi may have caught fire again following a reported overnight attack earlier this month, according to an OSINT analysis by the ASTRA Telegram channel.

The Adler-based Rosneft-Kubannefteprodukt oil depot was previously attacked during the night of September 4. Local authorities have not officially confirmed the latest fire.

Reports of the blaze emerged on Telegram channels, including Supernova+. However, there has been no official confirmation that the facility currently on fire is the Rosneft depot.

No reports of a drone attack or air-raid alert were issued before the fire was reported, according to ASTRA.

The Rosneft-Kubannefteprodukt facility is located at 17/10 Aviatsionnaya Street in Sochi’s Adler District. It stores and supplies petroleum products and is located next to Sochi International Airport, one of Russia’s major aviation hubs. The airport ranked fifth in the country by passenger traffic in 2024.

The September 4 overnight drone attack also reportedly caused a fire at the LUKOIL-Yugnefteprodukt oil depot in the Sirius federal territory. ASTRA said footage from eyewitnesses was geolocated by one of its OSINT analysts.

An air-defence unit near Sirius, close to the Russian-Abkhaz border along the Psou River, was also reportedly targeted.

Following the September 4 attack, one of the two companies responsible for refuelling aircraft at Sochi International Airport — a Rosneft subsidiary — suspended operations on the morning of September 4.

Aircraft were subsequently refuelled exclusively by LUKOIL’s operator, according to an official international notice issued to pilots.
